Sicut Aurora
$2.50
This new setting of Hildegard von Bingen’s classic text starts in unison and builds through canonic polyphony and cascading melodic lines into a piece that works well as a processional or concert opener. Hand drum and finger cymbals add rhythmic grounding, with the texture becoming more active as the percussion enters. The voicing is accessible and makes a strong teaching piece, while a flexible score allows for a shorter version if needed. Sounds more difficult than it is!
