Elemental

$2.75

This dramatic piece tackles some of the most pressing environmental crises in recent history. An urgent ostinato sets the scene and then shifts to storytelling mode, giving each natural disaster its full weight before returning to the ever-speaking urgency. Each voice part portrays a different element, and the choir uses singing, stomping, breath, sandpaper, and pouring water to elicit the sounds of the earth. As one headline states, “We are in a new abnormal.”
